Dock Street Theatre

Built on the site of one of America's first playhouses, the Dock Street Theatre is a combination of the reconstruction of an early Georgian playhouse and the preservation of the old Planters Hotel. On February 12, 1936, the New Theatre Dock Street opened. Today, performances are given throughout the year by the Charleston Stage Company, the theater company in residence. The Dock Street Theatre box office is open Monday-Friday from noon to 6 p.m.
